I’m always looking for new ways to balance my mind, body and soul. I found balance, relaxation and peace of mind at a float center in Brooklyn where I had my first experience in a sensory deprivation tank. A sensory deprivation tank is basically a tank filled with water that also integrates enough Epsom salt to allow you to float on the water’s surface. With the water at skin temperature and with 1000 pounds of Epsom salt in the water, your mind is free of distraction and your body is free of gravity. While being in total darkness your imagination can run wild.
Palo Santo means Holy Wood and is the name for bursera graveolens. The Palo Santo tree is about 700 inches tall and grows in the South American region of Peru, Ecuador, Bolivia and Brazil.
Palo Santo was widely used by ancient pre-Hispanic cultures like the Tiwanaku and Inca. Inca shamans used Palo Santo in religious and spiritual rituals, as a tool to bring good luck, ward off any signs of negativity and as a means of getting a spiritual communication with their gods.
